Ahoy mateys! We will be focusing on pirates and the jungle this week. We will be doing many pirate and jungle activities….constructing catapults and ships, singing pirate songs, reading pirate and jungle books, creating pirate and jungle art projects, pirate themed math and literacy activities, and trying some new tropical snack foods! This week should be filled with lots of pirate fun!

Tuesday:

· Snack: smoothie, snap peas
Wednesday:
· Catapult and/or pirate ship popsicle stick project

· Pirate ship math activity
· 5 Big Pirates song
· Snack: pirate ships (apple slices & cheese) and bell pepper
Thursday:
· Paper plate pirate
· A Pirate’s Life by Salina Yoon
· Treasure hunt skit
· Treasure chest math activity
· Going on a Treasure Hunt (chant/drama)
· Food discovery activity: coconut
· Snack: banana, heart of palms
Friday:
· Jungle scenery art project
· The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry
· Jungle animal classification
· Snack: mango, yucca
