This week we will be focusing many of our activities around the book Brown Bear, Brown Bear, what do you see? by Bill Martin Jr. We will be focusing on colors, shapes, and the fine motor skill of cutting!
Monday:
· Morning Meeting: Calendar, Brown Bear, Brown Bear what do you See? by Bill Martin Jr., the color brown & green
· Art: brown bear (Mrs. Salouma’s class: kite making-diamond shape)
· Math: square song and create a square man
· Literacy: Letter Aa- apples
· Science: mixing colors with colored water
Tuesday:
· Morning Meeting: Calendar, Cat’s Colors by Jane Cabrera, the colors orange & red
· Art: Orange Cat
· Math: Circle song and create a circle man(Mrs. Salouma’s class: animal pattern blocks & pattern block sort)
· Literacy: Letter A-Spin a sound/letter
· Science: mixing colors with paint
Wednesday:
· Morning Meeting: calendar, Little Blue and Little Yellow by Leo Lionni, the colors blue and yellow
· Art: brown bear animals marble painting
· Math: triangle song and colored bears sort (Mrs. Salouma’s class: how many triangles in a square/pentagon)
· Literacy: Letter Aa out of Legos
· Science: painting a rainbow
Thursday:
· Morning Meeting: calendar, Brown Bear, Brown Bear what do you See? by Bill Martin Jr. & Eric Carle’s ABCs, the colors red and purple
· Art: Brown Bear animals necklace (Mrs. Salouma’s class: color & shape book)
· Math: shape game
· Literacy: Letter Aa with bingo markers
· Science: chromatography experiment (color experiment with salt water and markers)
Friday:
· Morning Meeting: calendar, If You Take a Paintbrush by Fulvio Testa, the color pink
· Art: paintbrush cutting/art project
· Math: brown bear number identification
· Literacy: Letter Aa-glue on almonds
· Science: primary colors exploration
Movement Activities for the week: Twister, variation red light, green light, shape yoga
Also, don’t forget that we are starting show and tell this week! Bring in a special item that begins with the letter A!
